สมาคมผู้เลี้ยงไก่ไข่ภาคใต้จัดประชุมใหญ่ประจำปี มุ่งสู่การพัฒนาอุตสาหกรรมไก่ไข่อย่างยั่งยืน พร้อมอัปเดตแนวทางเคจฟรี
สมาคมผู้เลี้ยงไก่ไข่ภาคใต้จัด ประชุมใหญ่สามัญประจำปี 2567 เมื่อวันที่ 9 มีนาคม 2567 ณ ห้องแกรนด์บอลรูม โรงแรมโนโวเทล ภูเก็ต ซิตี้ โภคีธรา อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดภูเก็ต โดยได้รับเกียรติจาก นายโสภณ สุวรรณรัตน์ ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ต เป็นประธานกล่าวเปิดงาน พร้อมด้วย นายสุเทพ สุวรรณรัตน์ นายกสมาคมฯ ที่ได้กล่าวรายงานถึงวัตถุประสงค์ของการจัดงาน โดยในปีนี้ บริษัท คะตะลิสต์ จำกัด วิสาหกิจเพื่อสังคมได้เข้าร่วมและนำเสนอหัวข้อ “ก้าวทันโลกไปกับเคจฟรี” ซึ่งเป็นแนวทางใหม่ในการเลี้ยงไก่ไข่แบบไม่ใช้กรง (เคจฟรี) เพื่อให้เกษตรกรไทยได้อัปเดตข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับกระแสระดับโลกด้านสวัสดิภาพสัตว์และความยั่งยืนในการผลิตอาหาร
ปัจจุบัน การเลี้ยงไก่แบบไม่ใช้กรงกำลังได้รับความสนใจมากขึ้นจากธุรกิจระดับโลก โดยเฉพาะในกลุ่มโรงแรมระดับนานาชาติและซูเปอร์มาร์เก็ตที่เริ่มปรับเปลี่ยนนโยบายเพื่อลดการใช้ไข่จากไก่ที่ถูกเลี้ยงในกรง และมีบริษัทกว่า 200 แห่งทั่วโลก ที่กำหนดเป้าหมายเปลี่ยนมาใช้ไข่เคจฟรี บริษัท คะตะลิสต์ จำกัด วิสาหกิจเพื่อสังคม ทำหน้าที่เป็นตัวกลางเชื่อมโยงระหว่างผู้ผลิต ผู้ซื้อ และผู้ขายไข่ไก่จากระบบการเลี้ยงแบบไม่ใช้กรง พร้อมให้คำแนะนำแก่เกษตรกรเกี่ยวกับแนวทางการเปลี่ยนผ่าน ตั้งแต่เทคนิคการเลี้ยงไก่ไปจนถึงการเข้าถึงตลาดที่มีศักยภาพ
จังหวัดภูเก็ตเป็นหนึ่งในพื้นที่ที่มีแนวโน้มเติบโตของตลาดไข่เคจฟรี เนื่องจากจำนวนนักท่องเที่ยวต่างชาติที่ให้ความสำคัญกับการบริโภคอาหารที่มีจริยธรรมและความยั่งยืน ผู้ประกอบการในพื้นที่ เช่น ฟาร์มทวีภัณฑ์ ได้เริ่มดำเนินการเลี้ยงไก่แบบเคจฟรี เพื่อตอบสนองความต้องการของตลาด ขณะที่ หอการค้าจังหวัด และสมาคมโรงแรมภูเก็ต ก็กำลังให้การสนับสนุนแนวทางนี้
การประชุมครั้งนี้ไม่เพียงแต่เป็นโอกาสให้เกษตรกรและผู้ประกอบการในอุตสาหกรรมไก่ไข่ได้แลกเปลี่ยนความรู้และแนวทางการพัฒนา แต่ยังเป็นก้าวสำคัญในการสนับสนุนอุตสาหกรรมไข่ไก่ของไทยให้เติบโตตามมาตรฐานสากล โดยคำนึงถึงทั้ง คุณภาพสินค้า สวัสดิภาพสัตว์ และความต้องการของผู้บริโภคยุคใหม่

Southern Layer Farmers Association Holds Annual General Meeting, Aiming for Sustainable Egg Industry Development with Cage-Free Updates
The Southern Layer Farmers Association held its 2024 Annual General Meeting on March 9, 2024, at the Grand Ballroom, Novotel Phuket City Phokeethra, in Phuket City, Phuket Province. The event was honored by the presence of Mr. Sophon Suwanrat, the Governor of Phuket, who delivered the opening speech, along with Mr. Suthep Suwanrat, the association’s president, who outlined the objectives of the meeting. This year, Catalyst Social Enterprise participated in the event, presenting on the topic “Keeping Up with the World with Cage-Free”—a new approach to cage-free egg farming. The session provided Thai farmers with updates on global trends in animal welfare and sustainable food production. Cage-free egg farming is gaining increasing attention from global businesses, particularly in the hospitality and retail sectors, as international hotel chains and supermarkets begin shifting their policies to reduce reliance on eggs from caged hens. Over 200 companies worldwide have committed to transitioning to cage-free eggs.
Catalyst Social Enterprise is a key facilitator, connecting producers, buyers, and sellers of cage-free eggs. The organization also guides farmers on transitioning to cage-free systems, covering aspects such as modern farming techniques and access to potential markets.

Phuket has emerged as a promising market for cage-free eggs, driven by a growing number of international tourists who prioritize ethical and sustainable food choices. Local businesses, such as Thaweewan Farm, have already begun implementing cage-free egg farming to meet market demand. Meanwhile, organizations such as the Phuket Chamber of Commerce and the Phuket Hotels Association are actively supporting this transition.

This conference not only provided a platform for knowledge exchange among farmers and industry stakeholders but also marked a significant step toward aligning Thailand’s egg industry with international standards. The discussions emphasized product quality, animal welfare, and evolving consumer preferences, ensuring a more sustainable future for the industry.
